About GNLU

Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), located in Gujarat, India, was established by the Government of Gujarat under the Gujarat National Law University Act, 2003 and is recognized by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and University Grants Commission (UGC). About the Course

This Programme seeks to introduce students to the study of public policy and governance- making and implementation processes to create an improved understanding of events happening in society. This programme is framed as a policy science concerned with the interdisciplinary process of analysis, planning formulation, implementation and evaluation of Public Policy and Governance as its core area. Public policy is the cornerstone of government action, encompassing a wide array of decisions, laws, regulations, and actions designed to address pressing issues facing societies. From healthcare and education to environmental protection and economic development, public policy influences every aspect of our lives. Understanding how policies are formulated, implemented, and evaluated is essential for policymakers, government officials, civil servants, and professionals across various sectors to make informed decisions and drive positive change.

The program will contribute to acquisition of analytical skills that can help in informing policy choices.

This programme will examine the socio-political, economic and legal issues surrounding the enactment, implementation and enforcement of policies while analyzing the policy process and its impact. In addition, this program should equip the students with skills to evaluate and assess Government Programme and Projects.
