About VIPS
Vivekananda School of Law and Legal Studies (VSLLS) of Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (VIPS) is committed to realizing the words of Swami Vivekananda: “Man Making, Character Building and Nation Building. Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, recognized by Bar Council of India and UGC under section 2(0) with NAAC ‘A’ accreditation, and is well known for its robust efforts in legal education. Dr. S.C. Vats, Chairman, VIPS, a great philanthropist and educationist, believes in perfection. Thus, the motto of VIPS is ‘in pursuit of perfection. With his broad vision and guidance, since the inception of VIPS in the year 2000, it has produced several gold medallists and a number of judicial officers along with lawyers placed with highly reputed industries, law firms and senior advocates as also government and non-government establishments. Along with Dr. Vats, Prof.(Dr.) T.V. Subba Rao is Professor-Emirates in VIPS and he has made marked contributions in the universities which he has worked. He held many academic, administrative and supervisory in the University system. Amongst the many, few are: Acted as a Visiting Professor, Director, Research and Development Council; Chairperson, Postgraduate Council, National Law School Of India University, Bangalore etc. Also, Mr. Suneet Vats, Vice Chairman of VIPS is highly experienced and skilled in the Education Management Industry and is an alumni of Ivy League University- Columbia University, New York. Currently, the Law School of VIPS is running the programmes BALL B. BBALL B. and LL.M. in its own hi-tech, Wi-Fi enabled campus in Delhi. Students with higher rank in CET/CLAT conducted by GGSIP University are preferring admission in VIPS. VSLLS ensures an all-round development of students by engaging them in multiple training programs, namely, moot courts, alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. research, legal aid debates and more. VSLLS also has collaborations with foreign and national universities to provide exposure to students at international and national levels: VSLLS has signed MOUS with Singhania & Partners for “Legal Know-How on Start-ups course and MAADHYAM for understanding for the organisation of the national events Thus, VSLLS is progressing and marching towards perfection consistently.
About The Organisers
Centre of Excellence for Cyber Law: VIPS Centre of Excellence for Cyber Law has been established to understand and promote the blooming fields of cyber law. technology and their allied fields. The centre aims to deal with various techno-legal aspects of the critical and novel arenas of the cyber space in an
interdisciplinary approach through awareness, research and training.
Advocates’ Legion: Advocates’ Legion, Moot Court Committee of VSLLS, VIPS has been providing a platform for aspiring young lawyers to experience real life court situations in the legal arena. The society has been organising various events of national and international significance, through which a platform is provided to students to imbibe the pragmatic aspect of law.
Pro Bono Club: The Pro Bono Club, VSLLS, VIPS is functioning under Nyaya Bandhu (Pro Bono Legal Services). Its main aim is to impart legal awareness to the people Under the Pro Bono Club, student volunteers would get an opportunity to work with Nyaya Bandhu panel lawyers, set up by high courts This attachment will be facilitated by the department of justice (003), ministry of law, which will regularly monitor the work of student volunteers.
About The Event
The Centre of Excellence for Cyber Law in collaboration with Advocates’ Legion and the Pro Bono Club is organising the 1st edition of PIL Drafting Competition on 25th November, 2022. The purpose of this competition is to spread legal awareness amongst the participants and develop the skills of drafting in them.
Rules Of The Competition
- The students who are currently pursuing their bachelor’s degree in law Le., 3 Year LL.B course/ 5-Year LL.B./LL.M course from any recognised university college in India shall be eligible to participate in this competition.
- There is no restriction on the number of entries from any university or college.
- Participants are allowed to individually participate as well as participate in a team of two.
- Co-authorship will be allowed to a maximum of a 2 members.
- The substitution of any Team Member is not allowed after the registration deadline except in extenuating circumstances and only with permission of the organisers.
Registration Process
- The participating teams can register themselves by filling the following Registration Form: https://forms.gle/S86CPRfTZDvU2vDy7
- After successful registration, each participant/ team shall be allotted a team code for further references.
- There shall be no registration fees chargeable from the participants, as the event is being organised on a pro-bono basis.
- Last day to register for the competition is 15th November, 2022.
Prizes
Cash prize of Rs. 5000/- shall be awarded to the 1st position holder
