Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualifications:
- Law Degree: Graduate in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized university.
- Practice Experience: Minimum of 15 years of active practice as an Advocate, preferably on the criminal side and preferably within the State of Tripura.
- Age Limit: 38–50 years as on the closing date of application.
- Desirable: Working knowledge of Bengali or Kokborok languages is advantageous.
Role and Responsibilities
The Director, Directorate of Prosecution, will:
- Head the entire State’s Directorate of Prosecution, overseeing all prosecution activities and legal strategies in criminal cases.
- Supervise all Public Prosecutors, Assistant Prosecutors, and related legal officers.
- Provide strategic advice to the Home Department on legal policy, criminal law reforms, and case management.
- Liaise between police investigators and the courts, ensuring fair, timely, and effective prosecution of criminal cases.
- Handle senior-level legal responsibilities, prepare reports for administrative authorities, and represent the Directorate in various forums.
- Ensure compliance with statutory timelines, policies, and administrative directives as required by the State Government.
