About Meghalaya High Court

High Court in the name of High Court of Meghalaya was established for the State of Meghalaya w.e.f. 23rd March, 2013. The High Court of Meghalaya was inaugurated by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Altamas Kabir, the then Chief Justice of India in the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Meghalaya and the then Hon’ble Union Minister of Law and Justice on 25th March, 2013 in its new building.

About the Job

The High Court of Meghalaya invites online applications for the post of District Judges (Unreserved) from Advocates as prescribed under Schedule – B of Meghalaya Higher Judicial Service Rules 2015 and Meghalaya Higher Judicial Service (Amendment) Rules 2022.

Eligibility

  •  Must be a holder of a degree in Law from a recognized University;
  • Must be practicing as an Advocate in Courts of criminal and civil jurisdiction on the last date fixed for receipt of applications and must have so practiced for a period of not less than 7 (seven) years as on such date as per Annexure-A.
  • Must have a working knowledge of either Khasi, Jaintia or Garo language.
