About the GNLU Student Law Review:

The GNLU Student Law Review (GSLR) is the flagship student publication of Gujarat National Law university, Gandhinagar, India. The GSLR is an annually published, student-edited, double-blind peer-reviewed, online, open-access Law Review. 

The GNLU Student Law Review (GSLR) is hereby calling for papers for its Volume VI.

Categories:

Submissions are welcome on all fields of law from students, practitioners, academics, or scholars. The following categories of submissions will be considered for publication:

  1. Article: Between 4500-8000 words. We expect authors to comprehensively engage with the foundation of the chosen topic, aiming to underline its relevance for present times through legal policy.
  2. Case Note: Between 2500-4500 words. A Case Note would analyse a recent judgment or landmark decision of Indian courts, informing on the background of the matter and substantive implications for future adjudication.
  3. Legislative Comment: Between 2000-4000 words. A Legislative Comment would examine legislation or bills before the Parliament or any State Legislature, facilitating a cross-jurisdictional comparative analysis and suggesting improvements.
  4. Book Review: Between 1500-4000 words. A Book Review would capture the essential literature in a legal book and present its principles and arguments in a cohesive manner.

Word limits, as provided above, are exclusive of footnotes. Authors are advised to adhere to the limits.

Authorship:

Co-authorship is permissible up to three authors only for the category of ‘Articles’. For other categories, a maximum of two co-authors are permitted.

Originality:

GSLR requests all authors to only submit original research work. Please ensure that every source is properly referenced, and all contributors are cited. The University Grants Commission (Promotion of Academic Integrity and Prevention of Plagiarism in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations 2018, would be applicable in terms of the acceptable limits of plagiarism.

Abstract and Keywords:

The submissions must include an abstract of not more than 250 words that briefly summarises the paper, along with 4-5 keywords.

Submission Guidelines:

The authors must follow the Style Guide followed by the GSLR to facilitate a faster turnaround.

  1. The manuscript must be in .doc or .docx format. 
  2. The manuscript must be anonymous and should not contain the name of the author, institutional affiliation, or any other identification mark. 
  3. The text of the manuscript must be in Garamond font, size 12 with 1.5 spacing, and justified alignment.
  4. The footnotes must be in Garamond font, size 10 with single spacing.
  5. The submissions must conform to the ‘The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (20th ed.)’ format of citation. We encourage speaking and substantive footnotes; however, the author must justify their use.
  6. The submission must not have any endnotes, bibliography, and references. Authors are advised to use only footnotes. A one-line gap must be maintained between all paragraphs and headings.

The last date for submissions is 25 December 2024, 23:59 hours (IST). GSLR accepts only electronic submissions.
