About The Organizer

Shri Ram Chandra Mission (SRCM) is a non-profit educational and spiritual service organization that has been promoting heart-based living through meditation as a means to universal peace and harmony for over 75 years, since its inception in 1945. The Heartfulness Essay Event is being organized for the 34th successive year. MYBharat affiliated Udaan Youth Club is one of the partner institutions of the Heartfulness Essay Event 2026, actively encouraging youth from diverse backgrounds to participate.

Contest Details

The Heartfulness Essay Event 2026 is an opportunity for young people aged 14–25 to pause, reflect and express their thoughts and personal experiences on meaningful themes related to inner growth, acceptance and human evolution. The event encourages participants to balance intellectual development with the development of the heart and inner self. There is no participation fee.

Essays may be written in any one of the following 12 approved languages: English, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu.

Categories and Topics

Category 1: [Ages 14–18 years] – Word Limit: 500
Topic: “No one can hurt me without my permission.”

Category 2: [Ages 19–25 years] – Word Limit: 750
Topic: “Acceptance is a sign of evolution.”

Contest Guidelines

  • There is no participation fee.
  • Only one essay per participant is allowed.
  • Essays must be typed or legibly handwritten on A4-size paper.
  • Handwritten essays should use black or blue ink.
  • Participant’s name, father’s name, age and institution name (if applicable) must appear on every page.
  • The prescribed word limit must be strictly followed.
  • Total word count must be mentioned at the end of the essay.
  • Essays must be the original work of the participant.
  • References or quotations used must be duly acknowledged.
  • Plagiarised essays will be rejected.
  • Essays must not include appeals, illustrations or slogans.
  • The essay must be uploaded in PDF format, with a maximum file size of 3 MB.
  • After successful submission, participants should note their Enrolment Number.

Evaluation Criteria

Essays will be evaluated on theme introduction/interpretation, structure and flow, language, originality, relevance of ideas to the theme, research/attention to details and conclusion. Relevance of ideas carries the highest weightage of 40%, followed by originality at 20%.

Awards and Recognitions

  • Winner and Runner-up: Trophy and e-certificate in each of the 12 languages in both categories.
  • 3rd to 10th rank: Memento and rank e-certificate.
  • Top 10% shortlisted entries: E-Merit Certificate.
  • All Eligible participants: E-certificate of participation.
  • Some top participants may be invited for a telephone or video interview as part of the final selection.
