These conferences have culminated in the creation of insightful books on comparative law, which are Comparative Law -Unravelling Global Legal Systems, Comparative Approaches in Law and Policy and Comparative Law: Its Facets, Nuances and Intricacies.
The next edition of the International Conference on Comparative Law is planned in collaboration with School of Law, Galgotias University, Uttar Pradesh (India) on April 25 – 26, 2025 in a hybrid format.
2025 Conference: Theme
In an era of increasing globalization, legal systems across the world face shared challenges and opportunities. Comparative law, as a discipline, provides a critical framework for understanding the similarities, differences, and intersections among legal traditions, offering insights into how laws can evolve in response to societal needs. Its influence is evident in the evolution of law in different jurisdictions, with the Indian Constitution itself standing as a prime example of comparative legal application, drawing from the best practices within similar constitutional frameworks. Over time, the Indian judiciary has frequently referred to norms from other jurisdictions to enrich and advance its own jurisprudence. Additionally, Indian courts have applied comparative methods in their rulings, particularly in extending protections for socio-economic rights, gender rights, civil and political rights, environmental issues, corporate governance, and more. As such, comparative law, though an ancient field, has become crucial for the growth of modern legal societies.
It is within this context that ICCL – 2025 has been established. This platform invites legal professionals, academics, researchers, and students to explore, evaluate, and compare the legal systems of two or more countries, provided that either India or Australia is used as a foundational base for comparison.
