“The Law Communicants celebrates, with all the women out there, the International Women’s Day, 2022 and feels happy to share a few write-ups by some women who broke the traditional bias and proved that a woman is no less than a man.”

Believe in your Streeshakti!
Identify yourself; what you want to be rather than what others want you to be !
Be courageous and resilient to swim against the stream. With perseverance you will surely bust the glass ceiling thereby creating newer milestone for others to emulate!
At this juncture,  I can’t withhold myself from quoting Swami Vivekananda’ message for Indians to get out of their hypnotized state of mind . He exhorted, “Awake, arise and stop not till the goal is reached!” GO, GET IT!!!

Women have been prey of subordination by male bastion throughout globe in general and they have been subjected to deprivation, subjugation and oppression, perpetuated through institutionalized methods for the ages in India in particular.
No doubt, their situation has improved owing to three waves of feminist movements and the gender sensitive attitude of state which have resulted into a number of protective measures, affirmative action and legislations in favour of women. But at the society level the women are still prey of violence, crimes and subjugations by patriarchal dominance.
We hypothesize that it is the patriarchy that has watered down the implementation of these measures, policies and laws. Every year on March 8, International Women’s Day is observed to promote gender equality and to motivate people to work together to make the world a more equitable place. Apart from gender equality, the day is dedicated to women’s rights movement bringing attention to issues such as violence and abuse against them and reproductive rights.

Women have been playing a major role in the society to keep it balanced. Today, they have surpassed the traditional biasness which the female community have faced for so long. They have diversified themselves from a housewife to an air fighter pilot. Big names like Kiran Majumadar Shaw, Indra Nooyi, Kiran Bedi, P.V Sindu, Late Shri Lata Mangeshkar have proved that gender biasness is just an old story. Woman has stopped being the victim anymore and has understood the meaning of education and self identity. Their success has shaped a shift in the thinking of the society which clearly says that both gender are standing at the same platform with equal opportunities in every fields. Kudos to all women out there.

I want to wish a very happy International women’s day to all the women. My name is Tanvi Chaudhary. I am a law student and I am very thankful to The Law Communicants for giving me this opportunity to talk about the very sensitive issue of our country.
As we all are fighting for equality for women and for their rights in Indian society. I want to share a small incident which I have seen. I like to be active on social media and one day I was on a live session on Instagram and was having a normal interaction with my followers and friends. A guy commented on my live session that “Tanvi your live session is so good, I was in a girl’s live few minutes back and she was using abusive language on social media so I left the session. Being a girl using foul languages is not good girls should be in limits”.
So I instantly replied that why she was abusing, there must be a reason. Then the guy said “someone commented bad about her and out of anger she was abusing”. So I replied to the guy that if someone did the same with you, so what would be your reaction. So the guy said that whatever the reason could be but a girl should not use abusive language.
So I said that if using abusive language is wrong so it should be wrong in general and not on the basis of gender. And anger is a human behaviour, no matter if you are a woman or a man, you have full right to show your anger in your way.
If using abusive language is wrong for women then it is also wrong for men as well. Some standards are set in our society that how girls should behave, how girls should talk, etc. We need to stop making such boundaries only for women in the society. Instead we can provide a better upbringing to the children to respect every gender and their behaviour equally. We are fighting, we will fight forever to create our identity on our own. Thank you.
