Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Education:
- LL.B. (Bachelor of Laws) is required; LLM holders will have an advantage.
- Experience:
- Total 5–7 years of legal work experience, preferably with at least 4–5 years relevant experience in the payments/banking/fintech domain or in a reputed law firm (industry experience preferred, but not mandatory).
- Domain Skills:
- Expertise in agreement vetting, drafting, and negotiation (medium to high complexity contracts).
- Experience handling legal and regulatory services, including compliance with industry regulations and RBI norms for payment banks.
- Knowledge of contact management tools and contract lifecycle management.
- Strong understanding of commercial contracts, partnership agreements, vendor/partner documentation, and risk identification.
- Technical & Soft Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office and digital documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, and perform under deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently review, draft, and negotiate a variety of contracts—including commercial agreements, service provider contracts, technology and partnership deals24.
- Vet customer documentation, marketing materials, and product collaterals for legal compliance.
- Advise on regulatory and compliance matters, especially RBI guidelines and payments industry norms4.
- Ensure robust record-keeping and upkeep of contact management tools.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (business, product, compliance, IT, and risk teams) to address legal issues and support business initiatives.
- Provide guidance on evolving legal risks, draft legal notices, and support litigation/dispute matters when required.
