Role overview

  • Title: Privacy Rights Operations Analyst; Location: Navi Mumbai; Function: Privacy operations, governance, and stakeholder orchestration across Legal, IT, HR, Security, and business teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Rights handling
    • Own intake, verification, scoping, and fulfillment of Data Principal Access Requests (DPARs) and other statutory rights (access, correction, deletion, portability, grievance redressal) within legal timelines.
    • Define escalation paths for complex cases; coordinate with Legal/IT on feasibility, redaction, and secure delivery; ensure consistent, defensible outcomes.
  • SLA and audit discipline
    • Maintain complete, auditable logs for all requests and responses; monitor SLA adherence and initiate corrective actions for breaches.
    • Run periodic DSAR simulations to test readiness, surface gaps, and implement process/tooling improvements.
  • Playbooks and enablement
    • Draft and update SOPs for request handling (identity checks, data discovery, redaction, delivery, retention); train functional teams and first‑line handlers.
  • Metrics and reporting
    • Define and track KPIs: average response time, SLA compliance rate, backlog, volume trends by right/source, top causes of escalations; publish dashboards for governance forums.
  • Regulatory watch and incident support
    • Monitor developments under DPDPA Rules/Guidelines and map intersections with GDPR/CCPA; update procedures accordingly.
    • Support investigations into complaints or breaches relating to data principal rights; partner with Security and Legal on corrective and preventive actions.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Law, Computer Science, or Information Security; 8–10 years’ experience in privacy operations, info‑governance, or regulated compliance functions.
  • Strong grasp of DPDPA, GDPR, CCPA; experience translating regulatory obligations into stepwise operational workflows.
  • Familiarity with privacy management platforms for request orchestration, identity verification, workflow tracking, and reporting.
  • Capability to assess preventive/detective technical controls (data discovery, access governance, redaction, audit logging).
  • Clear, structured communication to explain complex privacy topics to senior stakeholders and cross‑functional teams.

Success indicators

  • On‑time, accurate closure of all rights requests with zero critical audit observations; robust, evidence‑backed trails for regulatory inquiries.
  • Mature playbooks, periodic simulations, and continuous improvements that reduce escalations and cycle times.
  • KPI‑driven operations enabling capacity planning, technology upgrades, and compliance risk reduction.

Ideal candidate profile

  • Hands‑on DPAR/DSAR operations experience in BFSI or other highly regulated sectors; proven record building SOPs, implementing tools, and passing audits.
  • Collaborative operator who can align Legal, IT, Security, HR, and business units to meet statutory timelines and quality bars without compromising least‑privilege and confidentiality.
