Eligibility Criteria
For Direct Recruitment
- Age Limit: 35–40 years as on the last date of application (04.08.2025). Ex-servicemen receive age relaxation equal to their service plus three years.
- Educational Qualifications:
- Must have passed 10+2 with at least 60% marks in English.
- Must possess a degree in LL.B. from a recognized university.
- Must have proficiency in computers (Word processing and Spreadsheet).
- Additional Requirements: All eligibility conditions, including age and qualification, must be satisfied by the application closing date.
For Departmental Posts
- No minimum or upper age limit.
- Eligible employees: Those serving in the High Court or subordinate courts of Punjab, Haryana, and UT Chandigarh, in relevant grades for at least five years.

Selection Process
- Common Competitive Examination (Total 280 Marks):
- Written Examination (250 marks): Three papers
- English Composition – 50 marks
- Civil Law (e.g., CPC, Limitation Act, Court Fees Act, Stamp Act, relevant High Court Rules, parts of Constitution) – 100 marks
- Criminal Law – 100 marks
- Viva-Voce (30 marks)
- Each written paper: 3 hours; Civil and Criminal Law papers in English.
- Written Examination (250 marks): Three papers
- Merit List: Based on total marks. Number of candidates to be recommended will be decided by the Hon’ble High Court.
