The Centre for Research on Governance and Public Policy, National Law University, Jodhpur [“CRGIPP”] is a Centre established with the aim of facilitating collaborative research initiatives to address complex societal challenges. CRGIPP envisions this conference as a platform to come together and engage in meaningful discussions, share insights, and critically analyse the role of the Courts in shaping India’s legal landscape. Through this conference, we aim to foster a deeper understanding of the Court’s significance and its enduring legacy.
About the Event
CRGIPP is organising a one-day conference in light of the Honourable Supreme Court of India completing 75 years of its institution. The Conference would comprise key note address from Justice B. V. Nagarathna, Honourable Judge, Supreme Court of India and valedictory address by Justice Madan B. Lokur, Honourable Judge, Supreme Court of Fiji & Former Judge, Supreme Court of India along with sessions by learned scholars and our notable alumni working in the domain. Further, the event would commence with a welcome address by the Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court and Chancellor, National Law University, Jodhpur, Honourable Mr. Justice M. M. Shrivastava.
The Conference aims to celebrate the legacy of one of the strongest pillars of democracy and provide a forum for robust discussions on various aspects such as the engagement of courts with comparative law, the role of courts in safeguarding and promoting the right to education, multifaceted interactions between the Indian Constitution and various institutions, including the legislature, executive, civil society, and the media, the relevancy of constitutional morality and so on. Our esteemed guest, during their address, will also delve upon the areas like constitutional morality and its jurisprudential nuances. Further, there will be discussions on role of the Supreme Court in safeguarding our federal structure.
