About IILS
The Indian Institute of Legal Studies situated at the foothills of the Himalayas in the Terai-Dooars confluence bestowing it with the natural landscape, sharing boundaries with the SAARC nations. The Indian Institute of Legal Studies is affiliated to the University of North Bengal and is approved by the Bar Council of India and recognized under Sections 2(f) & 12-B of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
The Institute is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). IILS always promotes the academic culture and proper research environment by creating greater opportunity for faculty and students to undertake original and serious research on identifiable issues relating to law and justice that affects the Indian society which in turn serves as a facilitator to the efficient and effective administration of justice.
Such aims can be fulfilled by comparative research and institutional partnership on faculty and student exchange basis and methods which shall be mutually beneficial.
Theme of Webinar
With the launch of NEP new paradigms in higher education have now emerged and with effective implementation of the NEP-2020, India aims to become a global study destination providing premium education at affordable costs. NEP covers significant aspects like holistic, multidisciplinary and futuristic education, quality research, and equitable use of technology for better reach in education.
This national webinar on National Education Policy 2020 – Issues and Challenges intends to discuss the expectations of the policymakers with regard to the role of heads of higher education and teachers for the attainment of the objectives of the new education policy including teaching and learning. Hence, through this webinar we would like to provide a holistic view of the reforms in the Indian education system by focusing on:
- The NEP 2020 and the role of the educators in the legal backdrop.
- Inequality in India’s education
- Everyone’s role in shaping the Indian legal education system.
