The National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA), Jaipur – Deemed University under Ministry of AYUSH – invites applications for 1 IPR Chair under SPRIHA Scheme (Scheme for Pedagogy & Research in IPRs for Holistic Academia). Targeting UGC-qualified Professors or 10-year IP Attorneys, this leadership role advances Ayurvedic IPR protection (patents, traditional knowledge). ₹1,50,000 monthly consolidated; tenure 5 years; deadline 30 March 2026.​

NIA IPR Chair Mandate under SPRIHA

Established by DPIIT, SPRIHA fosters IPR education/research in holistic sciences like Ayurveda. NIA Chair leads pedagogy development, patent filings for Ayurvedic formulations, TKDL documentation, faculty training. Contributes to National IPR Policy, bridging traditional medicine with modern IP frameworks amid 500+ Ayurvedic patent applications yearly.

Position Specifications

Age Limit: Maximum 70 years.​

Eligibility Criteria (Any One)

Option 1: Academic Excellence

• Served as/meets UGC criteria for Professor/Associate Professor.
• Adequate teaching/research experience in IPR.

Option 2: Professional Expertise

• IP Attorney with minimum 10 years practice in IPR law.
• OR Professional with 10+ years significant recognition in IPR field.​

Option 3: Government Service

• Retired official from Intellectual Property Office holding doctorate degree.​
