About the Farakka Barrage Project

The project construction commenced in 1961 and the project was commissioned and dedicated to the Nation in May 1975. The Farakka Barrage Project was designed to serve the need for the preservation and maintenance of the Kolkata Port by improving the regime and navigability of the Bhagirathi-Hoogly river system.

About Ministry of Jal Shakti

Ministry of Jal Shakti is a ministry under the Government of India that was formed in May 2019 under the second Modi ministry. This was formed by merging two ministries; the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, and the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation.

Farakka Barrage Project is inviting applications from eligible candidates for the post of postgraduate teacher.

Roles and Responsibilities

To teach students of Higher Secondary Classes of FBPHS School. Evaluation of answer scripts and invigilation duty.

Eligibility Criteria

(A) EDUCATIONAL

Master’s Degree with 50% marks from a recognized University in the relevant subject i.e. Political Science.
Bachelor of Education from a recognized University or Institute and
Studied Bengali as a subject up to 10th standard.

(B) AGE

Not exceeding 33 years for Other Backward Classes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servant for up to Five Years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time.
