The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), headquartered in New Delhi, has released a vacancy circular inviting applications for the position of Senior Consultant (Legal) on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for retired legal professionals from the government or public sector to contribute their expertise to one of India’s most critical digital governance initiatives – Aadhaar.
📌 Position Overview
- Post: Senior Consultant (Legal)
- Number of Vacancies: 01
- Mode of Engagement: Contractual (Full-time)
- Posting Location: UIDAI Head Office, 4th Floor, Bangla Sahib Road, New Delhi – 110001
- Contract Tenure: Initially for 1 year, extendable up to 3 years or until the age of 65 (whichever is earlier)
- Last Date to Apply: 18th July 2025
🎓 Eligibility Criteria
- Must be retired from Central/State Govt., PSUs, Autonomous/Statutory Bodies or Public Sector Banks
- Should have served at Pay Level 12/13 or equivalent at retirement
- Educational Qualification: LL.B. from a recognized university (LL.M. preferred)
- Experience: At least 10 years of experience in handling legal matters
- Other Requirements:
- Proficiency in legal drafting, arbitration/litigation
- Familiarity with government rules, procedures, contracts, and regulatory compliance
- Proficient in computer operations
🧑⚖️ Roles and Responsibilities
The Consultant will support UIDAI’s legal matters, including:
- Advising on legal procedures, contracts, and regulatory compliance
- Drafting and reviewing legal documents, affidavits, and court briefs
- Preparing replies and documentation for litigation/arbitration matters
- Legal scrutiny of MoUs, contracts, and internal documents
- Assisting in all legal work as directed by UIDAI
💰 Remuneration
- For pensioners: Consolidated pay = Last Pay Drawn – Pension
- For non-pensioners: ₹90,000/month consolidated
- Fixed Conveyance Allowance: ₹5,000/month
- Accommodation: As per UIDAI policy at Aadhaar Housing Complex
- No other allowances (DA, PF, Medical, CGHS, etc.) are applicable
