About The Event
Mooting as an essential extra-curricular activity enables one to partake in simulated court proceedings involving drafting memorials and oral argumentation, empowering law students to learn to apply and comprehend the nuances of the law.
With the aim of strengthening the mooting skills of law students across the globe, the Moot Court Committee (MCC), Faculty of Law in collaboration with the Association of Universities of Asia and The Pacific is organizing the 2nd AUAP-JLU International Moot Court Competition 2023, set to take place from 7th-9th April 2023 at Faculty of Law, Jagran Lakecity University, Bhopal.
We hereby invite teams to participate in the competition and refine their mooting skills. The competition embraces awards worth INR 2,50,000 (USD 3070).
Jagran Lakecity University endeavors to consistently create opportunities to build a conducive atmosphere for law students to nurture and challenge themselves in acquiring the skills and exploring the intricacies of courtroom affairs.
About The Organisers
Faculty of Law was established in the year 2014 as part of Jagran Lakecity University (JLU), Bhopal, a private university established under Section 2(f) of UGC Act, 1956.
Eligibility
The students currently enrolled in either five years or three years LL.B. courses or LL.M. programs from any recognized University or Law College are eligible for participation in the competition.
A Recognized Institution shall be entitled to send only one team to the competition.
List Of Important Dates And Deadlines
- MARCH 03, 2023 – Last dates for teams to apply for Provisional Registration.
- MARCH 10, 2023 – Last date for registration via e-mail along with details of payment.
- MARCH 15, 2023 – Last date for seeking Clarifications.
- MARCH 20, 2023 – Release of Clarifications.
- MARCH 28, 2023 – Submission of soft copies of Memorials.
- APRIL 02, 2023 – Submission of hard copies of Memorials.
- APRIL 07, 2023 – Inaugural of 2nd AUAP- JLU International Moot Court Competition, 2023.
- APRIL 08, 2023 – Preliminary & Quarter Finals Rounds & Researchers’ Test.
- APRIL 09, 2023 – Semi-Finals, Final Round, & Valedictory
Registration Procedure
Each team shall provisionally register for the competition by sending an email to
mcc.sol@jlu.edu.in on or before March 03, 2023.
Awards
- Best Team: INR 1,00,000 (USD 1,220)
- Runners-Up: INR 75,000 (USD 920)
- Best Memorial: INR 25,000 (USD 310)
- Best Speaker: INR 25,000 (USD 310)
- Best Researcher: INR 25,000 (USD 310)
