Eligibility
Candidates must hold a Graduate or Post Graduate degree in Law from a recognised Indian university (UGC-approved) or institute (AICTE-approved), with at least 60% marks in either the degree or the post-graduate examination (at least 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates). The qualifying examination must have been completed as on 01.10.2026. Pay: starting basic pay of Rs. 82,485 in the scale of Rs. 82,485–4,050(14)–1,39,185–4,390(4)–1,56,745, with approximate emoluments of Rs. 1,14,000 per month in metropolitan cities, plus New Pension Scheme, gratuity, leave travel subsidy, medical benefits, accident insurance and company or leased accommodation as per rules.

The application fee is Rs. 1,000 for all candidates except SC/ST/PwBD (Rs. 250 intimation charges only), plus applicable GST, payable online. The selection process comprises Phase I preliminary examination (17 November 2026), Phase II main examination (22 December 2026) and an interview. Specialists may continue in the same specialisation for a minimum of 10 years.
