About Department of Law, Justice and Legislative Affairs
The Department of Law, Justice & Legislative Affairs is one of the important segment of the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi and presently being housed at 8th Level, C-Wing of the Delhi Secretariat, I.P. Estate, New Delhi-110001.
Amongst other functions allocated to this department under the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Transaction of Business Rules), 1993 the department is more importantly engaged in the functions such as tendering legal advice on variety of issues referred to by various departments of Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi and also performing consultative role in regard to proposals for legislations, framing of statutory rules/regulations, notifications, byelaws and finalization of important MOUs etc.
About the Opportunity
Department of Law, Justice and Legislative Affairs is inviting applications from eligible candidates for the position of Deputy Secretary (Litigation) at their office in New Delhi.
Eligibility Criteria
- Holding analogous posts on regular basis ; or
- With 5 years regular service in the posts in the pre-revised pay scale of Rs.8000-275-13500 or
- With 8 years regular service in the posts in the pre-revised pay scale of Rs.6500-200-10500
- Degree in Law from a recognized University or equivalent
- 5 years experience of legislative and; or advice work in the Law Department or 5 years experience
as an Advocate.
The departmental officers in the feeder category who are in the direct line of promotion will not be eligible for consideration for appointment on deputation. Similarly, deputationists shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment by promotion, period of deputation including period of deputation in other ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same organization / Dept shall ordinarily not exceed 3 years.
Salary
Rs.15600-39100 per month

ACRs for the last 5 years, integrity certificate, vigilance clearance and statement of major/minor
penalties, if any, imposed during the last 10 years may be forwarded to this department so as to reach
in this office within 60 days of issue of this Advertisement / Circular. - Those applications which are not received through proper channel or are incomplete and without the document(s) mentioned above, will summarily be rejected.
