H.S.N.C. Board’s Kishinchand Chellaram Law College, Mumbai Legal Aid Committee Presents Slogan Making & Poster Making Competition March 25th 2021

ABOUT THE COLLEGE:

Kishinchand Chellaram Law College, popularly known as K.C. Law College, is one of the premier law institutions in the city of Mumbai imparting legal education since 1955. It is permanently affiliated with the University of Mumbai and recognized under Section 2(f) and 12 (B) of the UGC Act. Bearing in mind that law is an instrument of social change; the College has adopted a motto which says “Law is the King of Kinds”.

The aim of K.C. Law College is to promote excellence in legal studies and its mission is to provide legal knowledge through theory and practice and to make the study of law socially relevant and fruitful. The College is the only Law College in Mumbai to be chosen and ranked 5th amongst Top Leading Law Schools of Super Excellence in India by Competition Success Review Magazine in the June 2020 edition. The College is also chosen and ranked 32nd amongst all the Law Colleges and Law Universities in India, by India Today Magazine in July 2020 edition. The College is also ranked 2nd in Colleges with the Best Male-Female Student ratio and ranked third in the Government Law Colleges with Lowest Course Fees –India Today in July 2020 edition.

ABOUT LEGAL AID:

The State Article 39-A of our Constitution enjoins the State to provide free legal aid to ensure that opportunities for securing justice are not denied to any citizen on account of poverty or other disabilities. The enactment of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 is one of the steps for establishing a society in which social, economic and legal justice is available to all on equal footing.

Legal aid allows people who would not otherwise be able to afford it to get help for their legal problems. Kishinchand Chellaram Law College implements various legal aid projects in collaboration with the legal aid services authority of the Bombay High Court. The college also adopts a village and creates legal awareness amongst villagers. Activities such as street plays and hand-made posters are been used to create awareness amongst the citizens.

Themes (Choose any 1 from option A (Any 1 sub choice only) OR Option B).

Option A] Women Rights (One from the following sub choices)

  • Female Foeticide and Female Infanticide;
  • Dowry and Domestic Violence;
  • Child Marriage and Women’s Rights to property, Succession before marriage;
  • Sexual Abuse;
  • Rights of women in police custody; OR

Option B] Rich Getting Richer, Poor Getting Poorer

FOR SLOGAN WRITING COMPETITION:

  • Slogan should not exceed over two lines and has to be quoted in (“) – inverted commas.
  • Slogans must be submitted in PDF format.
  • Slogans should be short, catchy, and originally written by the author or else that entry will be disqualified.
  • Slogans will be judged on the basis of the following criteria:
  • (Relevance to theme, Originality & Creativity).
  • Only one entry per participant is allowed.
  • Slogans hurting any religious sentiments, consisting of anti-national elements, controversial subject matter, or misrepresenting copyrighted slogans as their own will be disqualified.
  • Students from any field can participate in the competition.
  • Participants can participate in both the competitions (Slogan Making & Poster Making). However, only one entry by a single participant is allowed in both.

( i.e.- one participant can send 1 slogan and 1 poster only if they wish to participate in both)

  • Participants must choose any one theme from the ones mentioned above. If he/she chooses any sub choice from option A) then that particular sub choice has to be clearly mentioned Only 1 sub choice has to be selected from Option A.  Even if he closes option B), the choice has to be clearly mentioned.
  • The slogans will be judged only on the criteria provided above, so participants are requested not to draw/doodle around the slogans to make them look appealing.
  • The name of the participant/signature should not be mentioned at all in the slogan.
  • Slogans should be emailed to kclawlegalaid@gmail.com.
  • The subject of the mail should be “Submission for Legal aid fest Slogan writing competition, 2021”.
  • No derogatory/abusive language allowed in Slogans. Any use of inappropriate words shall deem the participant disqualified.

  2. E-certificate will be issued to all participants.
  3. Top 03 winners will be awarded an E-certificate of merit & Trophy.

FOR POSTER MAKING COMPETITION:

  • Students from any field can participate in the competition.
  • Posters have to be submitted online (can be handmade and scanned) in PDF format only.
  • Size of the poster must be A4.
  • Students shall make posters on any one theme mentioned above.
  • Students must not mention their name in the poster or sign their initials on the poster.
  • The Poster must not be borrowed and must be the original work of the author.
  • No poster should hurt any religious sentiments or any gender or caste. It must also not be anti-national and should not include names of government officials, famous personalities or any government logos.
  • The posters shall be judged on the basis of the following criteria: (Creativity, Relevance to theme and Presentation)
  • The decision of the judges will be final and binding.
  • Participants must choose any theme from the ones mentioned above. They can choose any 1 sub choice from option A) and that particular sub choice has to be clearly mentioned.
  • Only 1 sub choice has to be selected from Option A.

Even if option B) is selected by the participant, the choice has to be clearly mentioned.

  • A participant can participate in both the competitions (Slogan Making & Poster Making). However, only one entry by a single participant is allowed in both (i.e.- one participant can send 1 slogan and 1 poster only if they wish to participate in both).
  • The file size of the poster must not exceed 5 MB.
  • Participants must make sure that their poster is not overloaded with handwritten information. It must be concise.
  • The font size in the poster (whether handwritten or typed) must be of a reasonable size so it can be easily read.
  • The Organizing Committee can change the rules/guidelines at their discretion.
  • Posters should be emailed to kclawlegalaid@gmail.com.

No entries will be accepted via WhatsApp or any other means.

Participants can use any material like paints colours, drawings, or fonts which can make their posters look visually appealing.

However, their work has to be strictly ORIGINAL and not copied or cropped from elsewhere.
