About the Opportunity
In terms of section 6 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002, the Central Government has established an Adjudicating Authority in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue at New Delhi, to exercise jurisdiction, powers and authority conferred by or under the said Act. This job opportunity is regarding the post of a member of this Adjudicating Authority.
Roles and Responsibilities
The person appointed as Member or Chairperson shall hold office for a term of five years, whether as Member or in continuation as Chairperson as the case may be, from the date he enters upon his office, or till he attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.
Eligibility Criteria
- Is qualified for appointment as District Judge or
- Has been a member of the Indian Legal Service and has held a post in Grade-1 of that Service.
Salary
- One vacancy of Member from the field of Law, in the pay scale of Level 14 (Rs.144200-Rs.218200/-) (6th CPC Scale in PB-4 (Rs.37400-67000) plus Grade of Rs. 10000/-) with usual allowances as are admissible to a Group ‘A’ officer of the equivalent grade, is to be filled up.
- One of the Members of the Adjudicating Authority shall be appointed as its Chairperson in the pay scale of Level 15 (Rs.182200-Rs.224100/-) {6th CPC Scale in HAG Rs.67000 (annual) increment @3%)-79000) with usual allowances as are admissible to a Group ‘A’ officer of the equivalent grade. The pay of the Chairperson or Member shall be fixed in terms of the instructions of the Government issued in this regard.
