The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS), Kolkata invites applications for the position of Project Associate for a cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research project titled:
“LegiSearch: Search Engine for Legislative Indian Legal Documents”
This project is a collaborative effort between NUJS, IIT Kharagpur, and IISER Kolkata, and is sponsored by NUJS. The initiative aims to revolutionize access to Indian legislative content through intelligent search technologies.

🎓 Essential Qualifications & Eligibility:
- Primary Eligibility:
- LL.M. with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade.
- OR
- Candidates with a 3-year LL.B. or a 5-year Integrated Law Degree (B.A./B.Sc./BBA/B.Com. LL.B. (Hons.)) with at least 2 years of relevant industry and/or research experience may also apply.
- Final-year LL.M. students awaiting results are eligible to apply.
- Other Requirements:
- Demonstrated interest in Law & Technology, legal research, and academic writing/publication.
- Familiarity with legal databases such as:
Manupatra, SCC Online, Indian Kanoon, India Code, Westlaw, Hein Online, LexisNexis, JSTOR, and regulatory/legal portals (e.g., RBI, SEBI, CCI, TRAI, PNGRB, and ministerial/government sites). - Proficiency in English, along with working knowledge of either Hindi + one regional language, or two regional languages.
- Proficient in MS Office and general computer applications.
