Eligibility
Applicants must be employees of the All India Services, Central Civil Services, autonomous organisations, regulatory authorities, universities, or academic and research institutions of the Central or State Governments, and must fulfil the eligibility conditions as on the closing date. For the professional posts, the essential experience is investigation or enforcement under economic or regulatory law: Additional Director General — an officer of the All India Services or Central Civil Services Group A or equivalent, holding an analogous post, or with 1 year of service in Level 13, or 5 years in Level 12; Joint Director General — an officer holding an analogous post, or with 3 years in Level 12, or 6 years combined in Level 12 and Level 11 with at least 2 years in Level 12, or 8 years in Level 11; Deputy Director General — an officer holding an analogous post, or with 4 years in Level 11, or 6 years combined in Level 11 and Level 10 with at least 2 years in Level 11, or 8 years in Level 10. For these professional posts, a Bachelor’s degree in Law, Economics, Commerce or Business Administration (finance and accounts), Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary, Cost Accountant or equivalent qualification, and experience in competition law or matters, are desirable. For the administrative (CS) posts: Deputy Director General (CS) — a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognised university, plus an analogous post or 5 years’ experience in Level 11 or equivalent in a relevant field such as Establishment, Personnel Management, Secretarial Practices or Administration; Assistant Director General (CS) — a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline, plus an analogous post, or 5 years in Level 10, or 6 years in Level 8, or 7 years in Level 7, or 10 years in Level 6, or equivalent, in a relevant field; Office Manager (CS) — an analogous post, or 2 years in Level 8, or 3 years in Level 7, or 8 years in Level 6, or equivalent, in a relevant field, with a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline desirable. The pay levels are Level 13A for Additional Director General (Rs. 1,31,100–2,16,600), Level 13 for Joint Director General (Rs. 1,23,100–2,15,900), Level 12 for Deputy Director General and Deputy Director General (CS) (Rs. 78,800–2,09,200), Level 11 for Assistant Director General (CS) (Rs. 67,700–2,08,700) and Level 9 for Office Manager (CS) (Rs. 53,100–1,67,800).

Applications must be submitted in the prescribed proforma (Annexure-III of the Office Memorandum), complete in all respects, and forwarded through proper channel by the employer or cadre-controlling authority, accompanied by Cadre Clearance, Vigilance Clearance and Integrity Certificate, along with attested copies of up-to-date Annual Performance Appraisal Reports for the last five years. Separate applications are required for separate posts. The application must reach the Deputy Director (HR), Competition Commission of India, 9th Floor, Office Block-1, Kidwai Nagar (East), New Delhi–110023, by 21 December 2026 (5:00 PM). Conditional forwarding, advance copies, and applications received after the last date, without the required documents or certificates, or without proper channel, will not be considered.

The posts are in the Office of the Director General, the investigative arm of the Competition Commission of India, where the professional staff carry out investigation and enforcement work under economic and regulatory law, including the gathering of intelligence in competition matters.
