North-East Hill University, Shillong is organizing the National Youth Parliament on campus.

About the University

North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) was set up by an Act of Parliament and notified on 19th July 1973. The objectives of the University, as laid down in the act, are “to disseminate and advance knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities in such branches of learning as it may deem fit; to pay special attention to the improvement of the social and economic conditions with aim to provide welfare of the people of the hill areas of the North-Eastern region, and in particular, the intellectual, academic and cultural advancement”.

About the National Youth Parliament

National Youth Parliament is a pan-India contest organized to enhance political awareness in the younger generations. Our objectives are:

  • To sensitize, involve and engage the youth in politics.
  • To understand the nature of politics amongst the youth.
  • To build and shape the political views and ideas of the younger generations.
  • To engage youth from all over the country to contribute to politics.
  • To make them aware of the political developments in India.

Eligibility

  1. Students studying at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels can participate.
  2. All educational institutes are eligible to take part.
  3. The registered Institute should be located in India

How to Register?

The participants can register for the National Youth Parliament by filling up the form shared below the post.

Registration Fee

  1. Rs. 2000 for 3 nights of shared basic accommodation
  2. Rs. 1000 without accommodation
  3. Addition One-night accommodation can be provided ( Rs. 400/person)

  • Registrations Start: December 10, 2022
  • Registration Ends: January 20, 2023
