About Legal Aid Centre
The Legal Aid Centre at Symbiosis Law School Hyderabad was constituted on 28th February 2015, with an aim to provide free legal aid services and create legal awareness among the masses in the nearby vicinity, and to organize awareness drives, training programs, legal aid camps, and undertake research studies for the propagation of legal knowledge and to make the legal process a resourceful instrument of social development.

IFF is an Indian digital liberties organization that seeks to ensure that technology respects fundamental rights. It is committed to defending and expanding fundamental rights as India gets more digitally connected. As part of this mandate, it strategically engages with courts, regulators, and other legal institutions across India. Furthermore, its modus operandi is guided by the principles of progressive constitutionalism, non-partisanship, technological expertise, research, and collaboration. It is also known for upholding digital transparency by enforcing strategic litigation and numerous other campaigns and projects.

India has already made a big leap in digital adoption, as the collective number of internet users in India exceeds the number of internet users in some of the developed countries. Our country has emerged as the second-fastest digital adopter among seventeen major digital economies. Digital rights, closely linked to freedom of expression and privacy, are those that allow people to access, use, create and publish digital media, as well as access and use computers, other electronic devices, and communications networks. Mounting cases of digital surveillance are also serving as a threat to digital privacy. Therefore, the chief aim of the present discussion is to deliberate upon the issues of digital rights and freedoms, data protection, and digital surveillance.
