About National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC)

Over the years NFDC has worked with some of the most acclaimed filmmakers of India including Satyajit Ray, Mira Nair, Aparna Sen, Shyam Benegal, Govind Nihalani, Mrinal Sen, Richard Attenborogh, Adoor Gopalkrishnan and Ketan Mehta. NFDC is breaking new grounds by co-producing projects involving public-private partnerships. NFDC facilitates line production services of shooting in India and animation services of overseas clients. NFDC organizes Film Bazaar India- a co-production and distribution market for the South Asian region alongside the International Film Festival of India, Goa.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Full-time Master’s Degree in Law (LL.M.) from a recognized university.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the private sector, public sector undertakings, or government organizations.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Additional certifications in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), Companies Act, or Competition Law.

Key Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Expertise in intellectual property research, analysis, and management.
  • Proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating IP agreements, licenses, and assignments with strict compliance to legal and regulatory standards.
  • Ability to manage and oversee litigation matters, including risk analysis and budget development for legal proceedings.
  • Strong commitment to financial ethics, transparency, and accountability.
  • Sharp attention to detail in reviewing and preparing legal and regulatory documents.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities, particularly in handling complex company secretariat matters.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to guide and support legal teams.
