The Team Member Legal (Consumer Banking) will be part of the bank’s support services–legal function, responsible for drafting and negotiating a range of banking and commercial contracts, advising business teams on legal and regulatory issues, and overseeing litigation and notice management for consumer-banking portfolios.   • Experience: At least 7 years’ experience in drafting and reviewing agreements and contracts, preferably in a bank or financial institution handling lending and consumer-banking documentation.​

Essential qualification and skills

  • Education:
    • LL.B. or equivalent law degree from a reputable law school.​
    • An additional Company Secretary (CS) qualification is an added advantage.​
  • Legal and domain knowledge:
    • Strong knowledge of contract law, banking regulations, and financial laws applicable to consumer banking.​
    • Familiarity with RBI guidelines and other financial sector regulations that govern lending, deposits, consumer products, and operational processes.​
    • Understanding of data protection laws, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, as they apply to customer data and digital banking services.​
