Legal Assistant Vacancy at High Court of Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur
The High Court of Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur has invited applications for 11 posts of Legal Assistant (Advertisement No. 05/Legal Assistant/2026, dated 15 October 2026). The engagement is purely contractual for a fixed term of one year, extendable up to three years, carrying a fixed honorarium of Rs. 30,000 per month. Eligibility
Candidates must hold a three-year professional or five-year integrated degree in law from a law college or recognised university in India. Applications will be accepted only from law graduates who have not commenced practice as an advocate and are not engaged in any other profession, vocation or service. Candidates who have appeared in the final-year LL.B. examination and are awaiting results may also apply, but must submit the final LL.B. marksheet at the time of interview. Only law graduates with not less than 55% marks in the LL.B. examination are eligible. Candidates must also have computer knowledge, including data entry, word processing and computer operations.

Candidates must fill the prescribed form and send it, along with duly attested copies of the required documents (marksheets and certificates, caste certificate, domicile certificate and testimonials), to the Registrar General, High Court of Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur, by Speed Post or courier, so as to reach by 31 October 2026, 5:00 PM. Selection will be through screening of applications followed by an interview; no travelling allowance is payable for attending the interview.
Role and Importance
Legal Assistants are attached to Hon’ble Judges of the High Court, and the notification requires every appointee to furnish an undertaking that, after termination of the engagement, they will not appear in any case handled by the Judge(s) with whom they were attached.
