Eligibility criteria

Applicants must be Indian nationals and must be law students enrolled in a reputed law university or institute.
For the 5-year integrated LL.B. course, the candidate must have completed or be undergoing the 8th semester.
For the 3-year LL.B. course, the candidate must have completed or be undergoing the 4th semester.

Internship work

Interns will assist CBI officers and law officers in a range of legal and procedural tasks.
These include legal research, drafting court applications, preparing replies, presenting evidence, examining witnesses, trial work, pairvi work, and data collection.
The internship is therefore more practical and litigation-oriented than a standard academic internship.

Conditions of engagement

The CBI has clearly stated that the internship is unpaid and that interns must arrange their own travel and stay.
CBI will not provide medical or other facilities to the interns.
Interns must also sign an Oath of Secrecy at joining, and the obligation continues during and after the internship.

Application process

Applications must be submitted online through the CBI website.
The portal indicates that applicants should upload their photograph, signature, date-of-birth proof, marksheets from Class 10 onwards, current enrollment proof, and a recommendation letter from the Principal or HoD.
The size limit for each file is up to 2 MB.
